: Where I can find these snakes for sale, any pictures, any literature or information about keeping them, etc. I saw them in an article (not sure which issue) of Reptiles Mag. not long ago. The cover of the issue had the translucent frogs on it. These were amoung the most interesting snakes I have seen and I'd like to get some.

There are a fair number of pictures on the web... http://thesnake.org/cols.html#15, http://www.blackbook.org/%Esullivan/species/S.pullatus.html, http://members.aol.com/loxocemus/snakepics/tropicalchicksnake.jpg, etc... Don't remember any books offhand that had much by way of info or pictures. There's a breeder out there somewhere that had a page about them, but I can't find it right at the moment. From what I can tell with the one I have, a female who was a couple month old when I got her last October, they're quite easy to keep. Mine's relatively shy, so a good hide box is definitely necessary. They don't seem to have very strict temp. or humidity requirements, I'm keeping mine at high-70's-mid 80's in a relatively dry room, and she's been doing quite well, shedding well and growing like a weed (a little under five feet long now). These guys are supposed to be somewhat arboreal in the wild, but mine's doing fine without much to climb on, though once she's full grown I'll have a somewhat taller
cage with some branches for her. As far as buying these guys, I got mine from Ben Siegel, and was happy with buying from him. I've also seen them listed at Glades Herp, and a few other places I don't recall at the moment. If you just watch the Colubrid classifieds here you'll see them turn up every now and then.
