Hi,
I am keeping some European ratsnakes (E. situla, E. quatuorlineata, E. longissima): all they are captive-born and they are 3-4 years old, and so I am starting now to hibernate them. I have already bred some snakes (also ratsnakes), but I am very curious to know your experiences with these species and, above all, your "technique" of breeding. I am collecting different methods and steps of many many herpetoculturists, with the goal to understand better the reproductive behaviour of these ratsnakes.
Specially,
- duration of hibernation;
- temperature of hibernation;
- when you feed them again (after hibernation);
- when you unite males and females in the same cage (BEFORE post-hibernation shedding, after post-hibernation shedding, ...);
- how long you let them together (or how many copulations before to separate them).
Thank you very much!
Leo
