Greetings! I am the proud new owner of a ratsnake that a guy I know gave me. He's about 2&1/2 ft long and he's a beautiful brown ang gold color. I have him in a 30 gal. tall tank and am using a heat lamp. I've been told he takes a mouse about every 5 days or so. I do have a book on ratsnakes which I have read, and I am not new to herps, but I am new to snakes, having owned an iguana and now 2 leopard geckos. What all info can you guys give me to make sure this guy stays healthy and happy?
