: I'll tell you what I've told many others contemplating wc imported Goynosomas DO NOT!
: Unless you're willing to micromanage their every phase of care, Goynosomas will break your heart sooner than later. If the snake in question is well hydrated, shows good girth, and still has its nose intact - you'll have a snake that will initially do well but all imports that I'm aware of eventually crash from recurring UR infections, parasite "blooms" or a combination thereof. Regardless of Panacur, Flagyll (contraindicated if interested in breeding re: Soe Pederson) they all eventually die. I've been through many days of administering Baytril, Amacasin, Gentomycin, etc. and although some recovered from seemingly the brink of death (and some died w/in 48 hrs. of showing symptoms) all eventually succombed.
: I tried every combo of heat, humidity, air-flow, etc. and although they did seem to do better when kept like a corn snake, breeding chances are slim to none. I was fortunate enough to keep mine thriving long enough (app. 8 mos. or so w/out any UR problems) to get two good clutches. I kept all of the hatchlings (incubation difficulties are best left for another chapter) and they are a breeze! Still onery, but no health problems, feed like pigs, and are growing at a remarkable rate.
: Personally I just grew tired of looking at each snake on a daily basis feeling that each day they were healthy was a minor victory! There are a few guys out there that still have cb babies so I'd advise you take this route. WC are much cheaper but you'll end up spending more over the long haul. Of course, there is always the snake or two to break convention and thrive w/minor care but I for one have learned a valuable lesson. Hope this helps - Bill.
