I dont know why but I found a Gopher snake last year two days before christmas. The night before was in the 20's. It was in the upper thirties to low 40's when it was found. I guess sometimes they get confused or maybe somthing ran them out of whatever hole they were staying in. I keep them until we have a warm day and let them go into nearby rodent burrows or Badger burrows.
