Rat Snakes not eating, is it because of....

My Emory Rat Snakes that are wild caught are refusing to eat. The temp outside is in the 40's. Is it because there wanting to go into hibernation? I didn't want to hibernate them yet. All my snakes I'm waiting to get off food around the end of October. If I continue to offer them food and keep them heated will they start eating again?
