Jeff,

Provent-a-mite and vapona strips use completely different actives and formulas. Our product is a non-volatile formulation once dry, as vapona strips continually outgas vapors. We specifically designed our product as an aerosol to provide better penetration with all treated surfaces. But unlike vapona strips, once Provent-a-mite has dried, it is non-volatile, and does not release any vapor. We tried several non-aerosol formulas while developing our product, but found that a specific modification to our active molecule in a aerosol formula resulted in greater efficacy. Unlike other products such as vapona strips, once Provent-a-mite has dried/bonded to the surface, it does not outgas and does not pose a health risk to the animal. Provent-a-mite is specifically patented and EPA registered for use with reptiles and when used as directed, will eliminate any tick or mite infestation without harming the host.
