: I just got two of these two weeks ago (male and female yearlings). The problem is the male hasnt eaten yet, he at once the first time i fed him but regurgetated. I have tried to feed him a couple of times since and he has no interest. The tank temp is 80 degrees. The female eats great but he is looking thin because he hasnt eaten in about 1 month. I know i shouldnt panic yet but i was just wondering what to do, he must have eaten before he is a year old.
I also got a male about two weeks ago. He also would not eat. Tonight, I covered his box, leaving him in total darkness with a fuzzy. Sure enough, he ate. I keep him in an aquarium with temps at 73 on the cool side and 87-88 on the hot side. Like you, I was worried.
I think that my success had to do with the snake getting used to his new home, but if your temps aren't right I belive that process will take longer if it ever is sucessful. These other guys on the forum know a lot more then me, but I woulod suggest giving the snake total privacy with good under belly heat. Let me know how you do, because your story really interested me, since I was in the same situation.
