Just kidding. I feed my male and female two-three smaller sized rats each per week. My male is a little bigger than the female and she is also not as thick as he is. About the only thing that I can deduce from this is that he is probably full size(in length) and he is now maintaining girth. She may have a little bit to go so she is not quite as thick yet(but she isn't scrawny either). They have a very fast metabolism and consume rats in about 10-20 seconds depending on how hungry they are. All snakes stand on their own. I have many snakes and therefore many examples of same size animals on the same feeding schedules, some are nice and thick and others stay lean(look at the people around you and in the mirror, individuality). If I put this "fat" snake down on the lawn and had you race against it, I am doubtful that you would be able to catch it(LOL).
: : This is my male. He is captive bred and very yellow(the photo and scanner actually take away from the color). I have a normal cb female of the same size and hope to produce some babies for the upcoming season. A real impressive animal. If you weren't real familiar with spilotes you wouldn't go near it, it almost looks like a mamba but yellow. Everything about these snakes is strange. They have very large, keeled scales. They flick their tongues in almost slow motion and will flatten vertically when threatened. They also consume food so fast, like someone is going to take it away. They are strong, fast and can really extend themselves for distance. Just something a little different for those of you on the forum that aren't familiar with the species.
