: I want to breed my c.b. taiwan beauties, however I don't know anything about inducing breeding in this species, is it the same as elaphe obseleta? please help!!!how low should i allow their temps. to get? thanks alot.

Hello Jarret,
We've bred many forms of taeniura and we do not cool the animals much at all, maybe nightime lows of 70 daytimes of 80, but we pretty much keep are animals like that year around. We do separate sexes and feed heavily before introducing them together since some males turn picky when thier minds are on other things.I do tell people to watch thier taeniura eggs since they have one of the thickest shells of any egg. You may have to slit some when hatching starts.
If i can help with anything else let me know,
Rob and Amy Zerkle ZERKLE REPTILE COMPANY
