Hi all,
I'm a behavioral ecologist here in Taiwan for the summer studying an endemic bird species but as a hobby I also keep snakes. At my field site we caught a fantastic juvenile specimen of red bamboo rat (Elaphe porphyracea nigrofasiata?) and also a large Taiwan Beauty. The bamboo rat is a beautiful species and I would like to add one to my collection when I return to the states. Anyone in the US breeding this species (especially the Taiwan subspecies)? I'm certain they are expensive? What's the going rate for CB? Difficult to keep? If I was a person of low moral standards I would put the little guy in my pocket but I don't think customs would like that too much. When I return to the US I'll trry to post my pics of this species and the Taiwan beauty. Thanks, Herm
