I just looked into one of the Mandarin rat snake egg boxes and noticed
that some had hatched and were already out the the egg. This is a clutch
of 9 eggs that was laid on 6-21-00. The female double clutched and the 2nd
clutch is 5 eggs. Last year she had her first clutch of 5 eggs at the age
of 2 years and she did not double clutch.
Mandarin rat snakes are tricky to start feeding. Does anyone out there have
any suggestions on getting them started?
sincerely,
robert seib
