By the way, the Blonde form of these animals is a normally occurring color phase in the wild. Almost every year there at least a few of them captured in Brewster and Presidio counties. Every year I produce het for Blonde babies and I had a lady tell me that she didn't want het babies, that she was looking for "pure" babies. I just surmised that she wasn't very well educated about the species.
That's an interesting story. I wonder if that lady had more of a misunderstanding
of genetics rather than a lack of knowledge about the species. I've kept snakes for years, but when I first got into the hobby seriously I took a biology course just so I could understand what the term "heterozygous" meant. You'd be surprised at how a lot of people have trouble understanding simple Mendel based genetics.
