I have been in and around this hobby for over 20 years now and I am still amazed that we haven't seemed to figure out the finances involved.
I remember looking at price lists in the early 1980s and wondering how people ever expected others to stop buying WC animals if they felt somehow that CB animals should be worth more money.
If you want people to stop buying wild caught snakes, give them an affordable alternative. For example, buying a wild caught Corn Snake or Cal King doesn't make financial sense any more as
the prices for WCs are higher than the prices for CBs.
If you are really interested in cutting back on the sale of wild caught animals, sell your CB offspring for the same price. After all, after you have a clutch or two at the WC price you will have recouped your "investment".
There is no inherent reason that CB are "worth" more (look at corns) and our greed in maintaining this fallacy has allowed the professional collectors to continue to decimate wild populations.
We reap what we sow.
Just my opinion.
