All eight made it! (though the last ones had me concerned...the last one came out 8 days after the first ones) All seem healthy & active (and gorgeous, if I do say so myself). Oddly, the later they hatched, the more nippy they are. The first three (came out same day) are all very tame. The next one is pretty nippy but calming down. The next ones strike the sides of their containers if you even walk past...though they're settling down a bit too.
My main question is sexing. What's the best way to do it? We were going to buy some probes but are a little concerned since neither of us has ever attempted probing before. But I don't really trust 'popping'...and frankly seems more dangerous to me.
Of course, my next dilemma becomes how decide who to keep, who to sell, and who to trade (I'd like to trade out to make at least one or two pairs b/c I'm not a huge fan of inbreeding). How does everyone out there decide??? All babies have equally good coloring (w/ one exception who seems to have white scales scattered here & there...waiting to see if those change after shedding) and all are healthy. Even the nippy ones are settling down pretty well.
Any help would be appreciated!
(and if anyone is in the Denver area & wants to check them out or trade for one let me know. We've already pretty much decided we don't want to ship them...just too risky for DOAs)
