Hi Howard
Keeping Taiwan beauties arn`t that different from keeping corns. They are active snakes and demands a large terrarium. Many likes to climb and prefer an aboreal living. I found that if you like to get the best out of your beauties, make a high terrarium with the heat source in the top. If so the like to live their lives in the branches in stead of hiding in the bottom ( see pic). The subspecies ridley and grabowskyi inhabits the tropical forest ( and caves) and should be kept warmer than the other subspecies. I always have a large box filled with moist sphagnum that the snakes like to visit especially during shedding.
I kept the common forms a little cooler than corns. About 25*C in the daytime and about 16-18*C in the night. Hibernate them about 3 months at 10-15*C and seperate the sexes after hibernation and untill their first shedding.
They eat a lot and can take large food items, but prefer younger and smaller things. Large friesi can eat adult male rats or small rabbits.
They seems to be very easy snakes to keep and breed. The juveniles nearly always eats without any help and grows like crasy.
Best wishes
Søe
