: I having been looking for 1.1 leopard ratsnakes for over a year now. Even those who advertise that they breed them have not been able to do so....A lot of people say they breed stuff when they really have been unable to do so, just to put them on their lists to make them look like they're a big breeder, you know?

In defense of myself and fellow breeders, most breeders must make up a price list or web site before the eggs hatch,
or even before snakes lay that season. Unfortunately, that means there will be some disappointments when comparing
what you expected versus what you actually were able to produce. I don't think most breeders intentionally adverstise
a species they don't fully anticipate being able to sell, just to make themselves seem like a "big breeder." I have
leopard rats on my list this year. I did last year too. While I have witness copulation many times, I have yet to see
any eggs. However, I will continue to put them on my list, as I have a trio that has produced eggs in the past, and I
have every reason to believe they will again. If I leave them off my expected-offspring list, then I risk losing
potential new owners for my hatchlings. I think most breeders will agree . . . better be safe than sorry.

Sorry to sound a little preachy, but breeding snakes can be hit and miss sometimes, and breeders shouldn't be
criticized for trying.
