Does anyone know if there is a way to tell just how black a snake will be when it is an adult? Here is why I ask, maybe someone can confirm it for me. My female is fairly dark, but still has a very discernable pattern. My male was almost without pattern, and really very black. My female's belly was lighter and more checkered than the male who had an almost solid black tail and his belly was darker farther up toward his head. And one last, possibly silly difference I have noticed. Their tongues. The dark male had a black tongue, and my female has a red tongue, with very little black. So, can I use any of these differences to gauge how dark a baby will become as an adult. I do notice some of the same differences in the little ones. Red tongue or black, dark or light belly. Any one have thoughts or experience?
thanks
