: I'm compiling a complete list of Elaphe and close kin, along with ranges, to be published on the web.
: One problem I'm running across is a lack of common names for a few species/ssp. If anyone can fill in the blanks for any of the following, it would be a big help.
: E. persica
Persian rat snake
: E. longissima romana
: E. longissima rechingeri
So far as I know, there subspecies of E. longissima don't have separate common names, and are all just called Aesculapian snakes.
: E. taeniura grabowskyi
Don't know if these guy's even really have a common name. Grabowsky's rat snake'd work well enough.
: E. taeniura ridleyi
These are usually either called Cave rat snakes, or Ridley's rat snakes.
: E. taeniura schmackeri
Same thing as with grabowskyi, don't think they've really got an accepted common name, but just taking the name of the guy who discovered it and calling it a Schmacker's rat snake would work.
: B. subocularis amplinotus
Durango rat snake
: S. triaspis mutabilis
: S. triaspis triaspis
Green rat snakes also don't seem to have different common names for the subspecies.
