: Hi I was woundering if any of you new of any red headed rat snakes coming in soon or dois any one breed them and if yall can post some pics of them
: I am ready to get some and know how hard they are to keep but who can resist there buity! Thanks

Hi, Clay...

I certainly can't resist them. I bought a pair from Larry Keller at Prairieland Herpetoculture last year (I think for $300/ea.). He'll probably be at the Daytona Show in August, you can talk to him, but he doesn't have offspring til fall ususally. You should get on his list soon, as these guys are getting more popular. There may be others that have them this year too.

Captive-raised babies are much easier to keep alive and raise than wild-caught. My three yr. old male is well over 4 feet and going strong, with no problems. There are a few basic tricks, because of the biome they are from, but with a little info they can be a great pleasure to work with. I expect a lot of people will be getting interested in this species in the next few years.

I wish I had some pics to post, but I still have to take some of my moellendorffi. I'll try to get some and put them up by mid-summer.

Good luck finding them.

Terry
