I breed every year Elaphe taeniura friesi, and I have the
impression that animals 3-4 years old arrest almost completely
to grow (or at least they grow very very slowly).
At that age my friesi are 190-230 cm long, varying this from specimen
to specimen (biggest specimen: female 5 years 230 cm; smallest: male 3 years 190 cm).
Is my impression true ?
Do arrest their growth earlier females or males ?
Is it true that after the first egg-laying one female
almost ceases to grow ?
I had also Elaphe guttata and Elaphe obsoleta, and with these
species too, my impression is that after 3-5 years they arrest
their growth.
What is your experience about ratsnake growth ?
Thanks to all (I think this is an interesting argument...)
