a huge cage and thick gloves is a good start. forget trying to hook or tail these, it's not worth it. just get a big set of gloves.
as far as husbandry. they are very big and active snakes, so they need a big, arboreal cage with lots of branches. husbandry is similar to any s. american snake: ambient temp. around 80, with a basking spot over 90, and high humidity.
one thing to keep in mind is that these are big, fast, aggressive snakes, capable and willing to give a nasty bite. if that's not a problem, these are one of the most alert and interesting snakes you can keep.
