About 2-3 months ago, I put my male Emory rat snake in with my female(after cooling for 2 months at 55F). I did not see them breed, but today I went to look at my female and she looks very 'lumpy' around the tail area and upward about 5-7 inches. She is fixing to shed, so do you think this is the 'pre lay' shed? I raise lizards and amphibs but this is my first try at snakes, any ideas for a lay box if she is going to lay? Also, any tips on getting them to hatch would be great.
