Russian Rat note.....

.....I have a large Russian on breeding loan that has very heavily keeled scales. My male, which is a little smaller, has fairly smooth scales. Has anyone else noticed differences in specimens that might indicate variation from different locals? I think I'll do some scale counts too, and find out if anything else is going on here.
