Hi Terry
Hibernation shouldn`t be the reason not to keep these snakes for people living in a warmer climate. A fridge can be and is used often here in Europe to maintain a steady temperature. Many people living in flats cannot keep the temp low and use an old fridge. Our problem is sometimes that the temperature is too low. I have hibernated many snakes turtles, lizards and even gekkoes and had no problem in a fridge.
Keaping the snakes at the floor during summer is normally cold enough. I have had my mandarins in my monitor room and it is HOT, but the mandarins and the situlas are still breeding, so go for it They are so nice animals
