Hey Dan,
If your interested in Asian Elaphe, you need to get a copy of Klaus-Dieter Schulz's book " A monograph of the colubrid snakes of the Genus Elaphe", (1996). This is THE BEST information you will find anywhere. great photo's of most all species and subspecies.
He has a new book out,(1999), that covers Malaysia and Thailand, if you need to know more, let me know.
"Snakes of Thailand and their husbandry" by M. Cox is another good one,(1991),
