In Reply to: can I breed my leucy to a beauty? posted by babysnakes on April 28, 2003 at 13:31:55:

The leucy is Pantherophis, a New World genus.

The beauty is Elaphe, an Old World genus.

The two are completely incompatible, and will not reproduce together.

The most notable difference is that Elaphe have an organ called a "Dumeril's gland," that Pantherophis lack. Pantherophis is compatible with Pituophis and Lampropeltis genera.
