Being in Eastern, NC I come across the greenish intergrade all the time. I've even bred them a couple of times and am trying to get an albino project going. They all seem to be pretty nippy when younger, which just seems to be more of an instinctual thing. But they'll get over it. You might take a couple of hits, but it's nothing to worry about. I even let mine bite me, just so they realize that I cannot be scared. They will get tired of wasting their energy and stop biting.
