Lucky you. I'm in Eastern NC and I've come across several Greenish rats already, some watersnakes, and various small snakes, and have had someone bring me a baby Canebrake. I've only seen 2 wild black rats ever. One was in Ga., DOR, and over 7' long. The other was 3 days later up near Pittsburg, Pa. and was DOR also. I've never even seen an (alive) adult black rat in person, which is kinda strange, considering all the travelling I do, and attending 3-4 reptile shows a year. I'm supposed to be heading up to Pa. mid-May and I'm hoping to end my black rat none finding streak then.
