I have a two year old great plains rat snake. He is in a tank with a sand/gravel substrate mix (like where he was found) and a hide log, etc . . . Recently he's started burying just his head under the substrate, digging with his nose. I've never had a snake do this. He's shedding just fine and eating well otherwise. Any ideas why he might be doing this? thanks - e
