I didn't lose a snake in brumation, but I've lost a snake (he died) just prior. Your escaped black rat snake will show up a couple days after you get another male for the female. LOL. Good luck

:My female amel. black rat is going into her first shed and my male is missing in action somewhere in my basement!He somehow managed to escape his brumation box back in november.I look for him about 1 hour each day and have not found him yet.I thought by now I would have at least found a shed skin but nothing!Guess I will have to look for another breedable male.
