He is a weird coloration though, his head is dark gray and his blotches are brown, and background coloration is kind of a golden brown color. I think he may be a natural grayXblack integrade. I have hunted on my brother in laws property where I caught this one, and havent seen any other black rats there. Maybe this summer. And yep, his tongue is jet black!

yeah a few people have said he looks like a texas rat, however, he has too much yellow/golden coloration. He does have a bit more browns in his coloration than most of the black rats I have seen here in KY. Most of the black rats here are more of an olive color.
