My South Korean female knocked out sixteen eggs last summer too. The Russians had eighteen last time they produced. Not stingy on the eggs, eh? Glad you appreciate them, Ter :)~
:will at sometime mention they seem to have a personality. I used to wonder about personality until I got the S.K. diones. Russian rat snakes and diones do seem to have their own temperament (personality). Diones are out during the day so you get to enjoy them and see them more. If you want a large snake, there's a Russian. If you want a smaller (3' - 4') snake, there's the diones. In addition, both species are great eaters and husbandry is easy. Easy care, great eaters, mellow and personable temperament = great pet snake. IMHO. What else do you want?
::One of my favorite pet snakes. That's why I'm still working with them. Have had Russians since 1988 and still going strong. Always enjoy feeding and cleaning these guys. My two year olds brumated for 3-4 months this winter and came out ravenous. At about three ft., they are on their way to being well adjusted :) TC.
