They will get big eventually.. Mine is not a great feeder though. He will eat me poor in this time of the year but after mid summer he will eat once every four weeks and from Spetember nothing at all. That's why I hibernate him for 4 months. When I wake him up in Februari he will not eat untill half March or so.. ;-) Oh, and he only likes small food..
