Blue Beauty pairing and aggression questions...

I have a sub-adult pair of blue beauties that I am currently keeping separate, simply because the male is slightly larger right now and I don't want my female to lay any eggs too soon...
However, this fall when she'll most likely be of breeding size, I would like to move them together into a large terrarium.
My male however is VERY aggressive, while the female is edgy but not nearly as hellish. I'm wondering if people generally advocate that aggressive snakes be kept separately, or if there's no chance this aggression will ever be turned toward the other snake? What about "rubbing off" on it either...? The last thing I need is 2 crazy, snappy animals instead of just the one! Any suggestions, thoughts or advice are appreciated,
Kris
