: My suggestion would be to get your snake eating prekilled. Start with its favorite food, mice. Then after a few meals try rats. If you can get a snake to eat dead food it's safer and more economical for you because you can buy frozen in quantity and just keep them around.

Yes blk ratsdo eat rats some times they do get intimidated buy the size so u might what to down size your rat a trick that work for me was to feed mines mice then toss a small rat while he's feeding they will normally nail the rat too the rest is down hill. good luck p.s. let us know what happen o.k.
