Two days ago I caught a 5 foot black rat snake in my shed while I was cleaning it out. I breed mainly boas and pythons and dont know much a about colubrids. This rat snake is nice and fat and very heathly. I set up one on my extra cages for it and was going to let it adjust for a couple days before I fed it. I had 3 mice left over from feeding my BRBs so I decided to go ahead and see if he would eat. He ate all three large mice like popcorn, and after the third he looked like he was searchin' for more. I was wondering if a 5 foot rat snake would be big enough to eat a rat or a small rat. If not how many large mice can I feed 'em. This is the nicest lookin' Black Rat I have seen. I live in northern VA. Please let me know. Feel free to email me also if you are intreseted in seein a picture of this guy. Hoodedserpent@hotmail.com

Thanks Y'all,
Eric
