I have an adult male wild caught who really doesn't enjoy being handled. He'll musk, rattle his tail and then attempt to bite when approached. He's also not a very good eater, so I leave him alone to minimize stress. Once out, he only wants to get away. The two captive bred I have (2000 and 2002) are still in their "everything wants to eat me" stage and will strike when you reach for them but calm down once out. They seem to be shy little snakes, gorgeous, but not really "friendly". Captive bred is definitely the way to go if you are interested in a snake that you want to handle.
