: my red ratsnake has laid 11 eggs last week. I can see in her body that there are about two more to come but it has been almost a week now since the she lay the last eggs. She's just lying on the moist woodcurls (I have no idea if that's an english word : )).
Woodcurls is close enough for us to get the idea. I guess you are talking about something similar to wood shavings. Nesting material isn't as important as the incubation material anyway.
: Is it time to get worried or is this normal behavior????
It isn't normal. I normally start really worrying if a female retains eggs for as long as 3 days. She may pass it easily up to 2 weekslater, but everyday it remains in there it becomes more dangerous AND harder to get out. If it has been in there for more than 3 days, I STRONGLY urge you to bring her to a vet for proper treatment.
: Also three eggs are turning brown all ready, the rest looks fine. Does it mean that the brown eggs didn't get conceived (???? is this the proper term???) or shall I leave them there untill they get moulded??
I think the owrd you were looking for is "fertilized." I would wait for them to actually mold up pretty bad before chunking them AS LONG AS they are not endangering the other eggs. They sound like infertile eggs, but you never can tell. They could have been fertile eggs, but touched too much, rolled around, retained for too long, etc -- all of those things can kill egss.
Good Luck,
KJ
