Some of you heard this from me (most of you didnt, i only spoke to a few people about it). I wanted to share it with everyone as a word of warning.
Recently I had a whole rack system of animals die. The lovely $30 thermostat (i know i know, i have better ones now) stopped working correctly. I lost 0.3 accliamted moellednorffi, 0.0.1 albino moellendorffi (that i had 2 days btw), and a hand full of ratsnakes). I had not even had time to take pictures of the albino before they F****** thermostat failed. I wont name the brand of the thermostat for legal reasons, but it was on of those $30 ones, which look the same as biostats.
The thermostat was set at 77f, and allowed the cages to get over 100f. The tape, sterlite container, and wood were fused together.
Go out, spend the extra money, and buy a helix or a big apple thermostat. In the long run it will save you money and headaches.
