Kestrel, I warm my snakes up gradually for a good week, or so. Then I put them in the Herp Room for a few more days w/o eating. Then I give them a small meal to get them started. After they've eaten a couple small meals and digested then I'll increase the amt. of food. After the female sheds for the first time, I introduce her to the male's cage. I usually leave them together for a few days to a week, then separate. I do this several times, or else just leave them together all spring.

Terry

:After cooling, what exactly should the process be? Let them warm up for a week, and offer food if they'll take it, then put them together? Or just toss them all back in the same cage once brought back up, and let them go at it? Then after that, How long is gestation usually, and incubate at what temps and humidity? I can't seem to find info on that at all..

::Ok...now just make sure they're ready to brumate, and they don't have anything in their guts. Good luck ....TC.

:::Thanks a bunch... They are taiwans, and they are currently being housed together. Male shows LOTS of interest in breeding, but the females are very NOT interested. This will be their first time breeding, so i was pretty much planning on cooling them anyway. I live in Seattle, Wa, so cooling is usually not a problem, even in summer. LOL. Basement stays around 55 degrees year round. So i'll toss them into cooling today.. Thanks for the reply!

::::TP said something about advice on brumating. If they're Taiwans, there's a good chance they'll breed w/o any brumation. I would say you could probably cool them for another 6 to 8 wks, but it might depend on where you're at too, and how difficult it is to cool down. Either way you should be ok. Good luck. TC.
