Pulling my female corn out of brumation this weekend showed numerous "hips." These fatty deposits are more numerous and
larger than they were before brumation.
We had a vet speak at our last herp meeting and he said that fat is a major contributor to egg-binding.
Here's my question: has anyone seen this and refused to "pump up" the female before breeding season? I plan on letting her
get a bit leaner before letting her produce eggs this year.
Any opinions at all?
AS an aside, has anyone seen the "hips" on a male?
I asked on this forum since its seems that all the knowledgeable folks have turned this way already.
