First off, let me appologize for the long post....

Early this morning when I woke up, I found an odd looking little snake lying coiled along the baseboard in my bedroom. How he got there is a complete mystery, especially in the middle of winter. He was under a pair of pants I had left laying in the floor and had desided to put in the laundry hamper. To make a long story short, at first glance, I thought that one of my other snakes, "pinky" the snow corn to be exact, had escaped. But...I quickly realized that it wasn't "pinky" or any other the other snakes I own.
This snake is a VERY slender, about a foot to a foot and a half long, solid white snake (clearly an albino with red eyes). It is february, and the winters here in south west virgina are pretty darn cold. No one in my neighborhood owns snakes (other than myself) so I am assuming this is a wild albino snake (what are the chances of an albino anything suddenly appearing under a pair of 501's left in the floor of your bedroom). More than likely a rat snake I would assume. However, of the pictures I have found on the internet, I can not find one to match this snake. Absolutly no blotches of any other color on this snake. Only white.
The snake is solid white (maybe a little pinkish) with a very lond slender tail past the vent. It is not used to being handled at all and will coil and attemt to strike readily after being warmed. It does have red eyes with the faint hint of a red pupil. If any one has any ideas about what kind of snake this may be, I would greatly appreciate any input. the only way I can get a photo of this snake is to rig something up with my webcam and take a shot, since I don't have a scanner.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
By the way....after I warmed the snake, it readily scarfed down a defrosted pinky.
I know this is an odd story but I swear every word of it is true. I just really want to know what kind of snake this is. It is really cool and I do plan to keep it.
Again sorry for the long post....
Andy
