In Reply to: a few questions on subocs morphs... posted by jeph on February 12, 2003 at 12:03:19:
As far as the morphs go, I cannot offer any specifics, but I do not believe that the blondes are "hypos". Blonds have a different pattern as well as the lack of black coloration. There are areas of W. Texas where you may find (occasionally) blonde subocs in the wild. I am still uncertain as to the origination of the silver or axanthinc subocs, although they do have the same pattern as the blonde phase. There are a few people who have already crossed the axanthic with the albino subocs and I dont know if the soonest fruition of the project will occur this year or next. I really am dying to see what the "snow" suboc will look like. There are a few breeders of locale subocs, but it is not mainstream for the species. I do breed Black Gap locale subocs, and I have seen a few other breeders of locale subocs, but not many.
