Hello Ben...there are a few people breeding these...maybe Rex Knight. It is a species being imported in the last few years and some breeding programs have commenced. It is a widespread species in southern China and the mnts. of s.e. Asia. It is not supposed to be too hard to keep or breed. Main things to probably remember are that it's a subtropical species which doesn't like it too hot (a characteristic of most Asian rats) and fairly high humidity is good. It shares some of the same habitat with mandarina, and yet, it is a very different snake. To breed adults, which I haven't done yet, I would expect a cooling period is in order, maybe two to three months at 50 to 60*F. Then they would breed like other ratsnakes from Asia. Usually they don't have too many eggs. Most of these small Asians have eight or less. I think these guys are pretty expensive. I'm in the market for a pair myself. I believe they might be available this year at around $1500/ea. P.S. There's several subspecies, as you probably know. Keep me posted on your progress. Terry.
