Soe,
Can you tell us what dose you used when administering flagyl to Gonys? Has anyone used very low doses successfully with them? An is it just me or do Gonys just seem very sensitive to just about all drugs commonly used with other herps?
Kirk
: Hi Karen
: Your problem is NOT humidity. Most Asian ratsnakes show signs of shedding problems when their general condition is wrong. The stress when deperasiting the animals can be enough but using flagyl............ It is VERY toxic to oxycephalas. If they don`t die most get so disturbed that they will never breed. You have a chance but all oxycephalas that I have treated with flagyl have been nonproducive animals. When working with wild caught ocycephalas, it is very important not to stress the animals. The parasites are a problem, but kept under the right conditions the survive and can be treated after some time (a year or so). Keep them very clean, dry and feed them with rodent without hair (the hair is hard on their digestion system)and let them settle in before ANY treatment.
: About the wound Clean it up and use a neomycin powder.
: Best wishes
