Brings back memories... I caught MY first snake when I was about 10. I was walking near the chicken coop and heard some leaves rustling behind me. I *knew* what that sound would be, so I slooooooowly turned around to see a young adult black ratsnake (about 3' long, maybe)with a huge lump in it slowly crawling towards me. I remembered how my dad had shown me many times to catch a snake by gently stepping just behind its head, so I did it! It still bit me, but I didn't care. I went running up to my dad to show him my prize. :-) He was ever so proud of me!! Somewhere there's a cute picture of me holding another black rat he'd caught, only this one was around 6' long, and glossy black. I'm about 8 in that picture, with long blonde hair, wearing a pink dress.. Wish I could find that picture. :::sigh::: Memories...
