:I have posted a pic of this snake before I think, but found a different shot of it when I was looking through some of my disk's the other day. This a Jefferson county specimen. This snake was found in the field behind my house. The blue stuff in the pic is pieces of an old pool liner that my neighbor's threw back in the field. The interesting thing to me is, this old pool liner seems to be a snake magnet. The first time I sorted through it, I found a large eastern garter. A big one like you don't see much of any more, maybe 3.5". A couple of more checks in the next week turned up a southern racer and some ground skinks on each visit. The next week I found this black rat snake, and the following week a young adult black king snake. I guess you could say, its my magic pool liner LOL! Well cold weather finally set in, but I'm curious as to whats going to be under it in the spring.
