My black rat has red in him as well, its most visible between scales.

:I would say maybe one in ten will have some reddish coloration. These are common snakes in this area, so they occur frequently.

:Hmm, you got my interest there. I have yet to find a KY black rat with any red on it. I've seen ones from MO and IL with red, but never KY. Looking forward to my trip to your neck of the woods Phil.
