Don't forget that obsoleta rats are not above grabbing another snake for food in the wild. In other words, you stand a chance of losing one snake as a meal to the other. Additionally, if one gets sick, both may require heavy (expensive) treatment, it'll be harder to determine WHICH one is sick if they both use the same cage, harder to feed properly, etc. Remember, only one snake can be in "the optimum spot" in that cage at once, too. Don't forget that their is a chance that them may breed (if a pair) resulting in unwanted babies, possible death to the mother from complications, and you being stuck with "worthless mutts" that are sometimes real hard to sell.
About their behavior: if any are worse than Texas rats, the 'Glades may be it! They can get real rowdy. However, almost all calm down with proper handling over time. Moreover, there is a lot of individual variation on attitude.
Good Luck,
KJ
